OTTAWA COUNTY, Ohio — One person was seriously injured Monday morning after crashing into a garbage truck while attempting to pass it in Ottawa County.

The crash happened at approximately 6:39 a.m. on State Route 795 west of SR 51 in Clay Township.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a 42-year-old driver from Elmore was attempting to pass a Republic-Allied Waste garbage truck on westbound SR 795.
