TOLEDO, Ohio — A local doctor whose medical license was revoked has lost his appeal to get his license back.
11 Investigates reported in April 2023, the Ohio Medical Board revoked Dr. Wade Banker's license for inadequate treatment of 15 patients over a four-year period.
Banker, a certified radiologist, owns Luxe Laser Med-Spa in Maumee, where he provided "awake" breast augmentations and tummy tucks, hormone replacement therapy and laser treatments, among other procedures.

During the original hearing on April 12, Dr. Giacolone, one member of the Board, stated, "as a member of the Board, he found this case to be terrifying."
Another Board member, Dr. Feibel, said "the Board should not allow Dr. Banker to practice, even in his specialty on interventional radiology, due to his judgement as a physician."
Banker appealed the loss of his license in a Franklin County, Ohio, court on April 28, 2023, arguing on the basis that the state medical board disregarded one doctor's expert opinion regarding cosmetic surgery patients and utilized the opinion of a a doctor who is not familiar with hormone therapy.
He also argued that he "was disciplined based on charges or reasons related to his education or training that were not included in the notice of opportunity for hearing."
Banker also asserted "that in addressing minimum training requirements to perform certain medical treatments, the Board is engaging in anticompetitive business practices in violation of antitrust principles."
The court found the board's order was supported by "reliable, probative, and substantial evidence and is in accordance with the law," and upheld the Ohio Medical Board's decision on Oct. 3, 2023.
Banker filed an appeal to that decision in the Franklin County Court of Appeals on Nov. 14, 2023.
