LANSING, Michigan — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has announced the state's annual creative challenge for Michigan K-12 students.
The 2024 State of the State Art Contest encourages Michigan students to design a piece of artwork that could be showcased on the front cover of the program for Whitmer's sixth State of the State address.
This year's theme is labeled as 'A Classic Michigan Story.'
According to the governor's office, contestants can use crayon, marker, paint or any other medium that they may like.
Designs should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14 in order to be eligible.
For those interested in submitting a design, visit the Michigan governor's website.
Michigan's State of the State address is set to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2024 at 7 p.m.
