TOLEDO, Ohio — The third Thursday of every month, the Art Loop winds it's way through the streets of downtown Toledo.
Milbury artist Beth Ayers calls her works ''Paper and Pearls.' 'She makes paper centerpieces for home and weddings .
Beth is inspired by a quote from Lady Bird Johnson: "Where flowers bloom so does hope.''
"Most of the time I work at night when everybody is in bed and it actually relaxes me," she said.
But the Art Loop's big bonus this weekend is 'Momentum' which is a free three-day art festival in Promenade Park.
This year's theme is light and interactivity, featuring interactive installations connected to light, like 'the sprawling 'Poof.'
Cloth poofs are sucked into a tube, whirled around in an air passage and spit out.
"Mostly joy. That's what poof is all about," said poof artist Bradley Scherzer.
Artist Matthew Hoffman has a tall sculpture of three words: ''You Are Beautiful.''
He said he's created 40 similar pieces that can be found in the Chicago area.
This is the first in Ohio and will end up in a yet to be determined Toledo neighborhood.
"I think it's important to keep positivity alive. I think it's easy to get downtrodden in the normal day-to-day. Good to have a reminder to say 'Everything is okay,'" said Matthew.
And you might also say there's no shortage of 'Momentum' in town this weekend.
