Monroe County man arrested Monday night after stabbing wife in the face

The Monroe County Sheriff's Department has arrested a man after he allegedly stabbed his wife in the face multiple times Monday night.

MONROE, Mich. — At approximately 9:16 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, 2023 the Monroe County Central Dispatch received a 911 call about a domestic violence incident in the 1500 block of Stewert Road in Frenchtown Township. Monroe County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene, where deputies found that a 62-year-old woman had been assaulted by her husband, 57-year-old johnny Richmond Knight.

The investigation conducted by the Monroe County Sheriff's Department revealed that an argument occurred between Knight and his wife. The argument led to a physical altercation and ended with the man stabbing his wife multiple times in the face.  

The suspect fled the scene in his truck, but deputies located the vehicle on South Dixie Highway near Dunbar Road in Monroe Township. The suspect was then taken into custody without incident and lodged within the Monroe County jail.

Knight was arraigned on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at the First District Court of Michigan. Judge Amanda Eicher is presiding over his case. Knight's bond was set at one million dollars.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries. She is currently in stable condition.

 The Incident remains under investigation by the Monroe County Sheriff's office Detective Bureau. Monroe County Sheriff Troy Goodnough asks anyone with information to contact detectives at 734-240-7530.
