1 dead, 3 injured after Napoleon home goes up in flames

The fire broke out on Lumbard St. around 2 p.m. Friday.

NAPOLEON, Ohio — One person is dead and three more injured after a Napoleon home caught fire Friday afternoon.

At around 2 p.m., the Napoleon Fire Department was dispatched to a house on the 900 block of Lumbard St. When crews arrived, the home was fully engulfed in the flames.

Crews on scene confirmed that one person had died and three others were sent to the hospital with unknown injuries. However, several others were able to escape the fire unharmed. 

Eight different departments responded to Friday's call. At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown. 

The fire is currently under investigation by the state fire marshal.
