TOLEDO, Ohio — A new clinic for older adults is set to open in Toledo with a focus on service and ease of accessibility.
The Neighborhood Health Association, in partnership with the University of Toledo Medical Center and the Toledo Clinic, is opening the Aurora Senior Health Clinic on Thursday, Nov. 16.
The new clinic, located in the Aurora Gonzalez Community Center in south Toledo, is said to bring geriatric primary and specialty care under one roof. It will be focused on patient-centered care, patient satisfaction and educational programs tailored for those 60 years of age and older.
“Our concept is simple,” said Shane Douglas, COO of NHA. “Provide old school customer service and a new generation of topnotch care.”
“This clinic is a shining example of what can be done to meet the needs of seniors when organizations work together,” UTMC CEO Richard Swaine said. “Our focus is on ease of care and accessibility.”
In a press release from the NHA, they said the new clinic will allow for better access to specialty care for those with Medicare and Medicaid by, "removing long waiting lists, accepting Medicare and Medicaid, and providing transportation."
They said that no one will be turned away, regardless of their ability to pay for the services.
“We are proud to be part of a project that is bringing specialty care to an underserved part of the region,” said Michael D’Eramo, Doctor Health Administration, The Toledo Clinic.
The Aurora Senior Health Clinic is currently booking appointments. If you'd like to book an appointment, call 419-241-4230.
