North Toledo man charged with child abuse, felonious assault after allegedly kicking 5 month old in the head

Lawrence Lambert faces felonious assault and child abuse charges after the March 6 incident.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo man faces felonious assault and other charges after authorities said he kicked a 5-month-old infant in the head on March 6.

Lawrence S. Lambert, IV, 24, also is charged with child abuse after he allegedly told police that he kicked the infant twice because he was frustrated at an apartment in the 700 block of Walnut Street.

The child suffered traumatic brain bleeds and other injuries. Authorities said the boy is in critical condition after the incident.

A Toledo Municipal Court judge set bond for Lambert at $600,000 and has ordered him to have no contact with the victim in the case.

Lambert's next hearing is set for March 18.
