SYLVANIA, Ohio — Sylvania Police found no credible threat after they searched the Northview High School area on Thursday after an alleged bomb threat was made to the school around 9:45 p.m.

Through an ongoing investigation, law enforcement has identified a Northview High School student as a suspect involved with the threat.

Sylvania Schools says after the threat was called into 911, law enforcement conducted a thorough sweep of Northview and also swept through Southview High School as a precaution.

School officials say they take student and staff safety very seriously, which is why additional school resource officers will be at both Northview and Southview High Schools on Friday as addition security measures.

"It is with full confidence in our local law enforcement's assessment that we have determined our high schools will be in session on Friday. We understand that it is upsetting to hear of a threat in our district. Threats are taken seriously and be assured that police are conducting a full investigation," the school said in a statement.
