TOLEDO, Ohio — Spring is in bloom and local organizations are coming together to celebrate new life in northwest Ohio with community baby showers.
Both events are free and aim to provide resources for growing families in the area.
Friday’s event is the Spring Community Baby Shower, hosted by Mercy Health in collaboration with several local partners. There will be raffle prizes, giveaways and refreshments. Mercy Health nurses will be in attendance to provide health screenings, including blood pressure and blood sugar screenings.
Partners for the Spring Community Baby Shower include Champions for Children; the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department; Buckeye Health Plan; NeighborWorks Toledo; Financial Opportunity Centers of Toledo; The Doula Xperience; and the Cherry Legacy Neighborhood.
The Spring Community Baby Shower is open to the public from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Friday at the Lagrange Branch Library, located at 3422 Lagrange St. in north Toledo.
Monday’s event, “Babies in Bloom: Community Celebration,” is hosted by Northwest Ohio Pathways HUB. It is open to expecting families or families with babies under 12 months old.
All families will receive a diaper swag bag filled with baby item. Free food, raffle prizes and resources will be available for all in attendance.
“Babies in Bloom: Community Celebration” will be held Monday from 2-5 p.m. at Wayman Palmer YMCA, located at 2053 N. 14th St. in central Toledo.
