MAUMEE, Ohio — Dozens of northwest Ohio Realtors stepped up to help out a local organization on Wednesday in Maumee.
The Realtors got to work early Wednesday morning, building beds for Let's Build Beds. The organization hopes to make sure every child has a bed of their own, so build events like these have a big impact on the lives of children.
"There's a lot of kids in the foster system that don't have that opportunity to have a bed," Northwest Ohio Realtors President Eddie Campos said. "And unfortunately, they're in a system that's not really providing them anything stable and now we're providing them something stable that they can connect with and rest their heads at."
The beds built during Let's Build Beds events go to children across northwest Ohio and some areas in southeast Michigan.
Volunteers from the Northwest Ohio Realtors Association managed to get over 20 beds done pretty quickly.
"We got nearly 70 agents out here, almost a dozen brokerages, doing a really good job of trying to give back to the community," Campos said.
Plus, those who could not make the event donated bedding.
