2-month-old boy at center of Ohio Amber Alert found safe; authorities searching for suspect

A 2-month-old boy who was at the center of a statewide Amber Alert Tuesday afternoon was found safe, according to Columbus police. The suspect has not been located.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 2-month-old boy who was at the center of a statewide Amber Alert Tuesday afternoon has been found safe, according to the Columbus Division of Police. Authorities say they are still searching for the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Russell Burris. 

The Ohio Amber Alert was issued for Caius Burris who was reportedly abducted in Fairfield County during a domestic dispute. 

According to the Fairfield County Sheriff's Office, a woman called 911 saying Russell took off with their child and left her at a business in Lithopolis.

Police said he was found safe in the area of Lachlan Landings Dr. in Groveport. The vehicle involved was also found at that location.

According to the Amber Alert, Russell has blue eyes and blond hair. He was last seen wearing a white hoodie with blue writing. He has a Playboy bunny tattoo on his right hand.

Anyone who has seen the suspect is asked to call 1-877-262-3764 (1-877-AMBER-OH) or 911 to be transferred directly to the investigating law enforcement agency or to hear the alert information.
