COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Division of Police provided an update on Thursday as authorities continue to search for a missing 5-year-old boy and a woman suspected in his disappearance.
Authorities say the boy, identified as Darnell Taylor, was taken Wednesday from the 900 block of Reeb Avenue around 3 a.m.
During a press conference held Thursday afternoon, police played a 911 call from a man claiming that his wife told him that "she had just killed our foster child." A woman could be heard screaming throughout part of the call. Police identified the woman as 48-year-old Pammy Maye.
The man later said on the 911 call that his wife left the home.
Police also showed dash camera video of a responding officer in the area of East Livingston Avenue and Lockbourne Road. The video shows a Jeep Cherokee, believed to be driven by Maye, drive in the opposite direction. The Jeep was found a couple of hours later in a Cleveland suburb, but Taylor and Maye were not found.
Authorities are asking anyone who believes they may have seen the Jeep to contact police.
Maye has been charged with kidnapping and endangering children. She currently has a warrant out for her arrest.
The boy is described as having black hair and brown eyes. Police say he may have been wearing Spider-Man pajamas and white boots at the time he was taken.
Maye is described as 4 feet 9 inches tall, weighing 115 pounds and having brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a green floral nightgown with pink shoes.
Anyone with information on the location of the boy or woman is asked to call 911. You can also call 1-877-AMBER-OH (1-877-262-3764) or 911 to be transferred directly to the investigating law enforcement agency or to hear the alert information.
