MASON, Ohio — There's a new mystery swirling around Kings Island as the amusement park near Cincinnati has unleashed a watery tease for an announcement regarding the 2025 season that's coming next week on Aug. 8.
What could it be?
A nine-second video titled "Race for 2025" was posted on Kings Island's Facebook page Thursday morning -- and it gives some hints.
It begins with a woman peeking over some sunglasses as somebody wearing a bathing suit carries two checkered flags. In the distance, there's a fence with waves painted across the bottom. The clip then flashes a pair of yellow eights -- in reference to Aug. 8 -- with checkered flags in between them. Each eight looks like it

The park also shared the following teaser images on their page -- both of which feature the checkered flags on top of a watery background.
Naturally, some comments on the posts suspect this means a new addition is coming to Kings Island's water park. But is that what it will be?

Cedar Point, which is Kings Island's sister park in Sandusky, has not yet announced any plans for the 2025 season.
