One dead, one injured in two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in central Toledo

The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. on Central Ave. at Detroit Ave., according to Toledo police. A 67-year-old Toledo woman died as a result of the crash.

TOLEDO, Ohio — One person is dead and another injured after a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in central Toledo.

The crash happened shortly before 8 a.m. on Central Avenue near Detroit Avenue. Theresa Sutton, 67, of Toledo, was driving westbound on Central Ave. and attempted to make a left turn onto Detroit Ave.. According to Toledo police, Sutton’s vehicle then collided with a vehicle heading eastbound on Central Ave.

Sutton was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the other vehicle, identified by police as 35-year-old Rarmon Parker of Toledo, was also injured in the crash. Police say Parker was taken by private transport to an unknown hospital. It is unclear what Parker’s current condition may be.

A police report states that an arrest and charge are pending, but further information has not been disclosed at this time.

The crash remains under investigation by Toledo police.
