SENECA COUNTY, Ohio — One man was killed after his minivan struck the side of a train in Seneca County Thursday afternoon, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said in a press release.
Richard Rochester, 90, of Tiffin was driving southbound on Township Road 15 in Clinton Township just before 2:30 p.m. when he drove around a railroad crossing gate while a train was actively crossing the intersection and struck the side of a train car, according to the OSHP.
Rochester was wearing his seatbelt and sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
