NEY, Ohio — One person died after a single-vehicle crash in Defiance County Tuesday.
Scott Cupps, 48, of Ney, was driving westbound in a pickup truck on state Route 249, just west of state Route 15 by Ney, at about 12:20 p.m. when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a tree, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Emergency services crews took Cupps to the hospital where he was pronounced dead Tuesday.
Cupps was wearing a seatbelt and impairment is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, according to the OSHP.
