Suspect arrested in central Toledo shooting that left man dead

Authorities say the shooting happened just before 2 a.m. at the This is It Drinks and BBQ bar on N. Detroit Ave.

TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police said that an early morning shooting in central Toledo has left one man dead and another in jail.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of North Detroit Avenue, near This Is It Drinks & BBQ, at 1:57 a.m. on Saturday for a call of shots fired.

Once on scene, officers located 28-year-old Isiah Pressley suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Authorities state that Pressley was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested 27-year-old Kenan Lamont Smith, from Toledo,  in relation to the shooting. Smith was charged with Murder Cause Death While Committing Attempting an F1 or F2 Violent Offense.

Police said Smith picked up another man outside of the This is It Bar after that man was involved in a fight inside the bar.

After driving around the block, police said Smith parked his car outside the bar.

Police said the man Smith picked up then exited the car with a semi-automatic pistol and fired into a crowd of people, striking Pressley in the face and killing him.

Smith and the man then left in the car, according to police.

Smith is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday.
