TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of Lagrange in North Toledo for a shooting, early on Sunday morning.
51-year-old Dale Griffin was found suffering from at least one gunshot wound around 12:30 a.m., according to Toledo police. It happened in the parking lot of Ken's Bar and Lounge. Mr. Griffin was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later died.
Later in the night, about a mile away, an unidentified person was shot and killed near Weber and Maple Streets.
It's unclear if the shootings are related.
In November 2019, Ken's Bar and Lounge was ordered shut down for a year by a judge who said there was not enough security at the bar for the amount of criminal activity at the location.
The bar's owner disputed the reasons for the shutdown at the time.
The death brings the total number of homicides in the city to 62 for the year.
The incident is still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 419-255-1111.
