SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A person was taken to the hospital after a fire at a home on Dorr St. just west of North McCord Road in Springfield Township on Saturday afternoon, according to the Springfield Twp. Fire and Rescue Department.
When crews arrived at the scene around 5:45 p.m. they found heavy fire showing from the front of the house.
Upon entering the structure, firefighters found fire in the front room of the home and quickly got it under control.
Firefighters say the victim was already out of the home when they arrived. Their condition is unknown at this time. No one else was found to be hurt in the fire.
Springfield Twp. Battalion Chief Andrew Sauder says the scene was “chaotic” when firefighters arrived with lots of “screaming and yelling”.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
