FREMONT, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced the opening of its new Fremont Post location Thursday, a building that occupies the same grounds as its predecessor.

According to a press release from OSHP, Fremont Post operations were moved to a temporary site near Route 20 Bypass in May 2023 to facilitate the demolition of the old post and the construction of the new building. The old building had been in operation for 63 years, an OSHP spokesperson said in the release.

The address of the Fremont Post is 2181 West State Route 20 Bypass, Fremont. The post's phone number will remain the same as the former building, at (419) 332-8246.

To celebrate the opening of the new post, the state patrol will hold an open house this summer. An exact date of the open house will be announced on the patrol's northwest Ohio division's social media.
