TOLEDO, Ohio — Get ready for the 2024 Komen Northwest Ohio Race for the Cure on Sunday, Sept. 29. Register now to make an impact locally and raise awareness of breast cancer while running or walking the 5K course in downtown Toledo.
The event kicks off at 7 a.m. at Fifth Third Field, with registration, the Race Expo, VIP, Hope Village and Kids Zone opening their doors. The Survivor Parade starts at 8:30 a.m., celebrating those who have triumphed over breast cancer.
Registered race participants will receive a standard event T-shirt, with special colors for survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer. Register early to get a shirt before race day. For those aiming to earn the 2024 Limited Edition Shirt, a $125 fundraising or self-donation goal must be met by 11:59 p.m. on race day. Shirts will be mailed in October.
The schedule includes a warm-up at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K run/walk and 1-mile Family Fun Walk starting at 9 a.m. The event wraps up at 11 a.m. For those who can’t attend in person, a virtual race option is available.
Participants are encouraged to print out a sign with their race tributes to put on their backs and to share event photos using the hashtags #ONEKomen and #RacefortheCURE. Timing chips are provided for 5K participants, with results available at davesrunning.com.
