Go Over the Edge for Victory: Sept. 6 event aids The Victory Center

This year's Over the Edge event is on Friday, Sept. 6 with participants going over the edge and racing up the building from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The Victory Center, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cancer fighters and survivors, is gearing up for its annual Over the Edge fundraising event. This event invites participants to rappel 16 stories down the side of the Toledo Edison Building - or to climb up it - all while raising funds to support programs and services that benefit cancer fighters and survivors.

At The Victory Center locations in both Toledo and Perrysburg, cancer survivors take part, for free, in massage, reflexology, one-on-one counseling and art therapy, just to name a few programs. There's also a wig bank to help patients look and feel a little more like themselves.

This year's Over the Edge event is on Friday, Sept. 6, with participants going over the edge and up the building from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Spectators are invited to cheer on rappellers and climbers at the base of the building and at nearby Levis Square. Visitors can enjoy food trucks, live music and interactive booths from local businesses and sponsors.

How to Donate

Sponsor a rappeller/climber: Visit the Over the Edge website to sponsor a specific rappeller or add funds to a rappeller who is close to raising enough money to go over the edge. Your donation will directly support cancer patients and their families.

General donations: If you’d like to contribute without choosing a specific rappeller, you can make a general donation online or at the event.
