TOLEDO (WTOL) - Over 2,200 workers at Mercy Health - St. Vincent Hospital have issued a 10-day notice with the intent to strike.
UAW Region 28 issued the notice on behalf of Registered Nurses and staff in Technical and Support.
Since July 30, these healthcare workers have been in contract negotiations with Mercy Health.
In a statement, UAW said on April 18, “UAW members overwhelmingly voted against the company’s ‘last, best and final’ offer.”
After multiple extensions, their contract expired at 11:59 p.m. Thursday.
The strike will begin Monday, May 6.
