TOLEDO (WTOL) - The Toledo Christmas Weed has brought joy to many members of the Toledo community, but some of that joy was stolen on Friday.

Parts of the Christmas Weed display, located at the corner of Secor and Alexis, were stolen in the early morning hours.

Christmas Weed representatives say a Grinch came by and swiped items from the display.

Not all of the decorations were taken, so some Good Samaritans helped to clean up the display after it was vandalized.

The Christmas Weed has been going strong for about 2 weeks now, with people still stopping by to check it out.

“There were like three days when I came down here, three days in a row - not for the weed itself, but for the joy it brought,” said Christmas Weed visitor Dwayne Brewer.

Friday is the last day you can visit the weed and experience its Christmas spirit.

Local Cub and Boy Scout members are set to clean up what’s left of the display at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
