TOLEDO, Ohio — A pedestrian has been hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Thursday night on Cherry Street outside of the Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center, according to Toledo police.
Police responded to the scene around 10:30 p.m. According to a police report issued Friday, the driver was traveling northbound on Cherry Street when the pedestrian stepped into the path of the vehicle outside of an intersection or crosswalk, police said.
The driver, who was not injured, was seen speaking with police at the scene around 11 p.m.
The injured pedestrian was not identified in the report. Their condition was not given.
Officers told WTOL 11 that the incident is actively under investigation.
