PERRYSBURG, Ohio — The city of Perrysburg has chosen its new law director.
City Council voted Tuesday night to hire Tim Effler. He currently works for the Ohio Attorney General's office in Toledo as an associate assistant attorney general, where he litigates cases involving violations of state and federal consumer protection laws.
Effler also worked at a private practice for 12 years. His first day working for the city of Perrysburg will be April 10 and his annual salary will be $120,000.
Effler is replacing Kathryn Sandretto, who resigned Dec. 1. Days later, WTOL 11 reported the city of Perrysburg was under investigation by the Ohio Auditor's office.
The city is still looking for a city administrator after Bridgette Kabat resigned in February. Kabat and Sandretto were both named in the initial complaint that was forwarded to the Ohio Auditor's office.
It's unclear if either of them are the target of the investigation.
