TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating after a fire started at a home in west Toledo.
The fire broke out around 5:15 a.m. on Jermain Drive.
The Toledo Fire battalion chief at the scene confirmed to WTOL 11 one person was found dead inside the home.
Police did not provide information about the person who was found.
No major damage was visible to the outside of the home but when crews arrived, they said there was a blaze on the first floor.
“Crews came in and did a great job, knocked the fire down really quick and as they were knocking down the fire that’s when they did a search and found the victim," the battalion chief said.
