Sheriff's office identifies person hit, killed by train in Springfield Township

The sheriff's office said the pedestrian was struck by an eastbound train on the railroad tracks located on Crissey Road near Gieser Road.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Lucas County Sheriff's Office has identified the person hit and killed by a train in Springfield Township on Saturday morning.

The sheriff's office said Amanda Bassett, 36, of Holland, was struck by an eastbound train around 8:33 a.m. on the railroad tracks located on Crissey Road near Gieser Road.

According to the sheriff's office, Bassett was pronounced dead at the scene.
