TOLEDO, Ohio — A person was shot Wednesday night in north Toledo, according to Toledo police.
The shooting happened outside a home on Cleveland Street near Chase Street before 9 p.m.
Police said there was an argument between two men when the victim arrived at the location to pick up his adult son, who is not the suspect.
The suspect shot the victim in the leg. TPD said the victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Toledo police identified the victim as a 39-year-old male.
According to court records, police arrested 45-year-old Andrew Payne after the shooting. Payne is accused of shooting the victim, and was charged with felonious assault. He is due in court for an arraignment at 9 a.m. Thursday.
According to police, the shooting victim is not from Ohio and police are still verifying his identity. TPD said the call was for a burglary but said there was no burglary.
