TOLEDO, Ohio — The Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad assisted in the recovery of several possible explosives found in a Point Place home Sunday.
According to a Toledo police report, crews responded to a home in the 2600 block of Coveview Drive to assist Washington Township police. Authorities said the resident at the home discovered what appeared to be a hand grenade and a military mortar round in the home after her father passed away.
The Northwest Ohio Bomb Squad took possession of the possible explosives and will destroy them at a later date, police said.
At the end of the report, police said it was unknown if either of the objects were live.
