Toledo police investigating collision between train, Jeep that injured one

Four people in total were in the vehicle.

TOLEDO, Ohio — One person was taken to the hospital after a train and a car collided near Point Place overnight Friday. 

Toledo police and emergency crews responded to Manhattan Boulevard near Wallace around 2:30 a.m. regarding the crash. According to authorities on scene, the driver of a Jeep drove around the railroad crossing railing and collided with a train. 

Police said out of the four people inside the vehicle, only one was taken to the hospital to be examined. The exact nature of the injuries was not made apparent. 

According to authorities, the four people in the vehicle were coming back from attending a Cleveland Browns game. 

Manhattan Boulevard will be blocked off for several hours during the investigation, police said.
