Police investigating crash near US-23 and Monroe Street interchange

Emergency Responders were on scene Saturday morning after a vehicle skidded off the side of a US-23 ramp.

SYLVANIA, Ohio — Sylvania police are investigating a single vehicle crash that happened around 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 near the Monroe Street interchange and US-23 off ramp.

Responders on scene told WTOL 11 the driver of the vehicle was driving on the the US-23 off ramp, heading towards Monroe Street, when the vehicle skidded off the side of the ramp, flipping, and landing in a ditch below the ramp. 

Police state two people who were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash were transported to a local hospital. There has been no update on the conditions of the two victims.

The US-23 off ramp was briefly closed this morning so emergency responders could remove the vehicle from the embankment.

Police are continuing to investigate what caused the crash.
