Officers responded to the scene on a Shot Spotter alert of shots fired, and heard shots being fired in the 3200 block of Cottage. Police saw 21-year-old JaJuan Brown running from the backyard into the home.

Brown came out of the home when requested, but a 17-year-old woman refused to leave the home.

Barricade protocol was activated and Toledo Police's SWAT team negotiated with the woman inside the home since 5 a.m. before she eventually came out with her hands up. At least four children were following behind her.

Officers put the woman in handcuffs and led her away.

Different family members gathered nearby rushed behind the police line and began to hug and kiss the children when they came out of the home.

The children were not physically hurt. No one else was injured during the incidents.

Brown was charged with firearms discharge in the city limits, and the woman was charged with obstructing official business.
