TOLEDO, Ohio — Trey Miguel is from Toledo.
Now, he is making his dreams come true as a professional wrestler for TNA Wrestling while at the same time working with the WWE's NXT brand.
WWE NXT serves as a training ground for wrestlers that aims to develop wrestling's next breakout stars.
Trey says his passion for wrestling and introduction to what would eventually become a career came from his grandmother.
"I do know that my grandmother introduced me to it. She was a huge fan of it until her last days here. Watching that as a child and my early teenage and early adulthood, I was a huge WWE fan," said Miguel.
Miguel has been wrestling since August 2009.
When he was 15 years old he started training for a career in pro wrestling and that's when he was introduced to TNA wrestling.
Later he caught the attention of NXT gave him a shot.
"Working for both of them at the same time is something that I never thought I'd get to do. Something that's never really been done before, and aside from a few people that I work with at TNA Pro Wrestling, this is a really big thing to be working for both places at the same time," said Miguel.
Miguel says the pro wrestling school that helped him train in his early years is what has set the stage for him to live out his passion in the ring as a professional wrestler.
"It's exciting to go out there in front of a crowd and get them riled up and get them interested on the tips of their toes and the edge of their seat, because you're doing what you love," said Miguel.
He also helps give back by sharing his talents with others in the community, and not forgetting where he came from as a head trainer at Skull & Bones Professional Wrestling and Fitness.
"We have like 10 trainees here and they're all my kids. I do everything I can for them; whether it's from trying to help them get work, trying to help them get gear, trying to help them learn new stuff in here, or just understand it better, or anything that's happening outside of life. This is a lifestyle," said Miguel.
Skull & Bones Professional Wresting and Fitness offers professional wrestling training.
Miguel says they are always accepting new students from all to no experience.
