TOLEDO, Ohio — As part of ProMedica's efforts to exit the home health care business, the company is closing their home health locations in Clyde and Dundee, a company spokesperson confirmed to WTOL 11 on Wednesday.
ProMedica will also be "significantly" scaling back operations at their home health location in Sylvania as they shift to serve pediatric patients only.
Changes at all three locations are expected to happen by Nov. 1 of this year.
ProMedica said in a statement that, "no layoffs occurred in our home health service line today." The company is working with both patients and employees to ensure a smooth transition, including helping employees at the affected locations with employment opportunities at other home health agencies and at other positions within the company.
"We will continue to provide uninterrupted high-quality care as we work to transition patients to other home health providers of their choosing," a spokesperson said.
The company also said that the home health agencies are not a part of the pending hospice and home care transaction with Gentiva and, "that transaction continues to progress."
