TOLEDO, Ohio — Lucas County will receive $3.2 million in funding from the state for multiple remediation projects, adding to the grants already awarded to the county earlier this week and paving the way for additional developments in the Toledo Metro.

The Lucas County Land Bank announced in a press release Friday the Brownfield Remediation Program, a project administered by the Ohio Department of Development, awarded the $3.2 million to the county for 11 projects.

The projects will be enacted by the Land Bank, non-profit partners and private developers at sites throughout Lucas County. Some of the funded projects are as follows:

  • Metroparks Toledo - $1.5 million to create upgrades at the Glass City Metropark, including an urban campground, cabins and more.
  • Toledo-Lucas County Public Library - $560,049 to the construction of the new location of the Washington Branch Library.
