TOLEDO, Ohio — According to new data compiled by 24/7 Wall Street from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, Ohio is the 8th best state to get the most bang for your buck. A dollar in Ohio is actually valued $1.12.
"You're going to spend less on a hotel room, less on the entertainment, you're gonna spend less on your food and amenities then you would in any big city but have the same exact experience right here," said Carla Nowak with Destination Toledo.
WTOL 11 checked it out. You can get a ticket to a Mud Hens game for as low at $10 on Friday night and ProMedica Summer Concert Series tickets are only $15.
Toledo Zoo admission is $19 for adult Lucas County residents. Admission to The Toledo Museum of Art is free.
"When anyone who comes into this town and goes into the Metroparks or goes into the museum and finds out they're free, they (sic) are amazed. That does not happen in any other city," said Nowak.
So how do neighboring states compare? Indiana is pretty close at $1.11. Michigan's dollar is value at $1.07 and Illinois is $1.01.
If you're thinking about visiting Chicago, think about gas. You can find gas as low at $2.49 a gallon in Toledo. In Chicago, the cheapest you'll find is $3.03.
