Residents escape house fire in south Toledo

The blaze happened around 2 a.m. on Colton Street between Spencer Street and Hiett Avenue.

TOLEDO, Ohio — The cause of an early Tuesday morning house fire in South Toledo is under investigation.

The blaze happened around 2 a.m. on Colton Street between Spencer Street and Hiett Avenue.

Crews with Toledo Fire & Rescue told WTOL the people living inside the home were able to escape safely.

No injuries were reported.

City building inspectors are determining if the house needs to be torn down.
