TOLEDO, Ohio — The Salvation Army has extended the registration deadline for its Christmas assistance program, which is aimed at assisting Lucas County families in need this holiday season.
In collaboration with the Marines Toys for Tots, the Salvation Army has added two additional days for registration. Registration must be done in-person at the Salvation Army building, located at 620 N. Erie St. in Toledo.
The program provides gifts for children up to age 12. Households with no children or children over 13 may still apply, and will receive food assistance in the form of a Kroger gift card, the Salvation Army said.
Registration times, which must be done in person, are as follows:
- Wednesday, Nov. 13: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Nov. 14: 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
To apply for registration, applicants must be Lucas County residents, and only one application per household will be accepted.
Those interested in applying should provide all of the following:
- A government-issued photo I.D.
- A birth certificate for each child 12 years and younger in their household. A printout from Job and Family Services will also be accepted
- Proof of all other household members
- Proof of address
