School bus involved in south Toledo crash; driver of second vehicle injured

The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A school bus from a southeast Michigan school district was involved in a crash with another vehicle in south Toledo Friday morning.

According to Toledo police on scene, a school bus from Ida Public Schools, located in Monroe County, was transporting students to a field trip at the Sofia Quintero Art and Cultural Center.

Around 9:30 a.m., the bus was at the intersection of Maumee and Crittenden avenues in south Toledo. Toledo police on scene told WTOL 11 the school bus driver ran a stop sign at the intersection, at which point the school bus collided with an SUV.

WTOL 11 reached out to Ida Schools. The district's superintendent, David Eack, told WTOL 11 that, as soon as the collision occurred, the bus driver contacted first responders, checked if any of the students were injured and asked if anyone had any medical conditions. None of the students on the school bus were injured, according to authorities and the Ida school district.
