SYLVANIA, Ohio — Sylvania Schools officials informed parents Friday that the district had received an anonymous letter threatening Timberstone Junior High School.
Someone mailed a handwritten letter threatening the school, according to a letter from Timberstone Principal Alexander Clarkson to parents.
Administrators contacted Sylvania Township police, according to the Clarkson's message. A detective is investigating, the message said.
"Although the letter did not include details (ie: specific date, time, reason for the threat) we do take the matter seriously and are adhering to the protocol of our school Safety Plan," the letter to parents read.
Clarkson's message did not detail exactly what steps are being taken or when the district received the threatening letter.
Clarkson said the district would pursue "the highest degree of discipline based on the Student Code of Conduct" once the culprit is found.
