SENECA COUNTY, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck.
According OSHP, the crash occurred around 6:43 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 on State Route 4 near State Route 269 in Reed Township.
A preliminary investigation from OSHP showed that a Chevy Silverado driven by a man from Bucyrus was traveling northeast on State Route 4 when he attempted to turn left on to State Route 269.
Authorities report that as the pickup truck turned left, it was struck by a semi-truck driving southwest on State Route 4.
OSHP reported that both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway, and the semi-truck struck a nearby home before coming to a stop. The driver of the semi, a man from Fostoria, Ohio, was transported to a local hospital with possible injuries.
Investigators report that the driver of the pickup truck sustained serious injuries. He was transported to a local area hospital by EMS before being flown to a hospital in Cleveland.
OSHP believes that the driver of the semi was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if the driver of the pickup was wearing his seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by OSHP.
