TOLEDO, Ohio — The City of Toledo and community partners are accepting speech submissions for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day Virtual Celebration, themed "Building Bridges and Breaking Bread."

Youth, teens and adults in the Toledo community are all invited to submit a 30-second video with text of them sharing their voices and connecting to MLK Jr.'s core principles: nonviolence, justice, love, faith, courage, service, forgiveness and hope.

Submissions have been open to the public since Oct. 15 and will close on Nov. 15.

Selected speakers will be notified on Dec. 2 and a film recording of the speakers delivering their speeches will happen from Dec. 9-13, according to the city.
