TOLEDO, Ohio — Ohio U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown announced Tuesday new investments for improvements at three northwest Ohio airports.
A press release from Brown's office says $6,725,171 will go toward improvements at the Wood County Regional Airport, the Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport and the Fostoria Metropolitan Airport.
The investments are being awarded through the Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Investment Program.
The projects include:
- Wood County Regional Airport: $4,790,774 to extend runways and taxiways and to install new lighting on them
- Eugene F. Kranz Toledo Express Airport: $1,782,322 to acquire new snow removal equipment
- Fostoria Metropolitan Airport: $152,075 to reconstruct a terminal
"Ohio airports are vital infrastructure supporting travel and commerce in our state," Brown said. "These investments will enhance safety and operations at Northwest Ohio airports and improve travel for Ohio families and businesses."
