24-year-old man dies days after being shot in northeast Columbus; Suspect charged with murder

Officers were called on a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Deborah Court, located near Morse Road, just before 11:20 p.m.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 24-year-old man has died days after he was shot at an apartment complex on the northeast side of Columbus. A 20-year-old woman was charged in his death.

Officers with the Columbus Division of Police were called on a report of a shooting in the 1900 block of Deborah Court, located near Morse Road, just before 11:20 p.m. They found Darreion Davis who was shot in the head.

Police said Davis was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in life-threatening condition. He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:43 p.m. Wednesday.

Officers arrested Alise Schlaegel, who is charged with felonious assault. Columbus police said a murder charge was filed against her. She is being held in the Franklin County jail.

Witnesses told police that Schlaegel was in the living room while in possession of a firearm. Davis came down and messed with the stereo. 

Police said Davis asked Schlaegel a question and witnesses heard one gunshot. Schlegel then went into the kitchen and said, "I shot him, I shot him."
