Drive sober: Sobriety checkpoints announced for Friday in Lucas County

Two OVI checkpoints will be active from Friday at 8 p.m. through Saturday at 2 a.m., according to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office.

LUCAS COUNTY, Ohio — The Lucas County Sheriff's Office has announced the locations of two sobriety checkpoints scheduled for Friday night.

The checkpoints will be located at 7225 Airport Hwy. and 1220 S. Holland Sylvania Rd. and in operation from 8 p.m. Friday through 2 a.m. Saturday, according to the Lucas County Sheriff's Office.

Officers with the Lucas County OVI Task Force will conduct the sobriety checkpoints to enforce safe and sober driving.

The checkpoints are paid for through the OVI Task Force Grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Remember to always drive sober or with a designated driver.
