South Toledo home damaged after vacant structure next door erupts in flames

Upon arrival, flames could be seen engulfing the back, front, and both sides of the structure.

TOLEDO, Ohio — A south Toledo home is damaged after a fire broke out at a vacant structure next door Friday morning. 

Toledo Fire & Rescue responded to a fire call around 4:30 a.m. on the 600 block of Curtis Street. Upon arrival, flames were seen engulfing the back, front, and both sides of the structure.

Firefighters at the scene told WTOL flames were infringing on the home next door, leaving fire damage. 

No injuries were reported. 

A fire inspector at the scene deemed the structure to be a total loss and said it would be demolished in the future.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. Stay with WTOL for updates.
