TOLEDO, Ohio — A person was taken to the hospital early Wednesday after their vehicle rolled backward in a west Toledo parking lot.
According to a Toledo police crash report, a driver, described in the report as a 47-year-old, pulled into the Speedway gas station in the 5100 block of Dorr Street just before 6 a.m.
The driver exited the vehicle but did not put the vehicle into park, police claimed in the report. The vehicle was on a slight incline and the vehicle began to roll backward. The driver then tried to stop the vehicle from striking another vehicle that was pulling up to a gas pump by running behind the moving vehicle.
The driver was struck by the vehicle and also struck the second vehicle.
The driver was not ultimately trapped between both vehicles, police said, but did suffer what authorities called serious injuries. Toledo Fire and Rescue transported the person to the hospital.
Police continue to investigate.
