TOLEDO, Ohio — In a letter to families Wednesday afternoon, St. Francis de Sales School said some students were threatened by an unknown individual passing through campus.
According to the school's principal, John Hall, an unknown person passed through the school's campus on a bike around 3:50 p.m. on Wednesday, made a verbal threat to students heading to practices and "flashed what we believed to be a weapon."
The principal said after receiving this information, all students were pulled into the school and the exterior doors were locked.
The school said they notified Toledo police who were on the campus as of around 4:18 p.m. when the letter was sent to families.
"Your son is not in danger at this time. However, we are taking all necessary precautions, as the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and community is of utmost concern," the school said in the letter to families.
